Martijn Beukers

My name is Martijn, after graduating as a veterinarian at the faculty in Utrecht, I worked for more than two years in the practice, where my interest in radiology kept growing. That's why I went back to the faculty in 2010, where I trained as a veterinary diagnostic imaging specialist, and in 2013 I passed the European specialists exam.

As a radiologist I work for two clinics of Evidensia, the Spoed and Verwijskliniek voor Dieren in Barendrecht and Dierenziekenhuis Hart van Brabant in Waalwijk. There I assess the CT's and MRI's, do part of the ultrasounds and assist in the assessment of X-rays. I also teach within Evidensia and assist veterinarians and assistants who want to develop further within diagnostic imaging. One day a week I do research into new MRI techniques which hopefully will allow dogs with back problems to be treated better in the future.

My greatest hobbies are painting and organizing the veterinary congress ‘de Voorjaarsdagen’.
