Iris Van Soens graduated as a veterinarian at the University of Ghent in 1999. Immediately afterwards, she started her career at the small animal clinic of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Ghent where she had the opportunity to follow a doctoral research and a specialization training in the neurology of pets. In 2009 she obtained the title of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. In 2011 she passed her neurology specialist exam and obtained the title of EBVS® European Specialist in Veterinary Neurology. Between 2014 and 2018, she worked as a specialist in a private veterinary clinic in Belgium and at the veterinary clinic of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Liège. Today she works as head of neurology for Evidensia Belgium and as a consultant specialist at the university clinic in Liège.
